Instructions

To use Beehive Contact Manager, you are required to install 2 separate programs as follows:

  • First Install the Beehive Database Server on 1 computer only. This serves as the common data store for Contact Manager.
  • Next install Beehive Contact Manager on as many computers as your license will allow. See below for information about Beehive licensing.
30 Day Trial

A 30 day trial of Beehive Contact Manager is provided to allow full evaluation of the product prior to a full license purchase as follows:

  • Full functionality of the applications is provided for a period of 30 days.
  • A maximum of 2 computers can run Beehive Contact Manager.
Licensing

Beehive Systems licensing works in the following manner:

  • Once a full license has been purchased, the Beehive Database Server will only run on the computer on which is was registered.
  • The license will allow the connection of as many computers as the license will allow. After a computer registers with the server, one connection license is allocated.
  • The total number of running instances of Beehive Contact Manager cannot exceed the number of licensed clients allowed.
Minimum System Requirements

Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 (not comptable with Windows 95, 98 or ME)

Database Server: Pentium 800MHz, 500Mb Ram
Contact Manager: Pentium 200MHz, 32Mb Ram
  Screen 800x600 pixels or higher using 16 bit colour
Beehive Database Server

Download the Beehive Database Server setup file (using the link below) to a known location that is accessible to your server computer. Notes regarding Beehive Database Server installation:

  • Before installing, close all instances of Beehive Contact Manager.
  • Before installing, close Beehive Database Server by right-clicking the tray icon and pressing Exit.
  • Make sure your current Contact Manager data is backed up properly. (see Help|Database Server|Installation)
  • Your current data will NOT be overwritten during upgrading or re-installation.
  • Always install to your original installation path.
  • Allow the application to run at the end of installation.
Beehive Contact Manager

Download the Beehive Contact Manager setup file (using link below) to a known location that is accessible to your client computers. Notes regarding Beehive Contact Manager installation:

  • Before installing, close Beehive Contact Manager.
  • If Beehive Contact Manager is run at the end of installation, ensure that the Beehive Database Server has been installed and is running.
  • When first running a new installation of Beehive Contact Manager, approval may be required from your firewall to allow Contact Manager to connect to the Database Server. A message may appear as follows:

If this message appears, close this window and press 'Allow' on your firewall access request. It may be necessary to go through this process 2 or 3 times before Contact Manager will open successfully.
